300/365 - Sammy Takes a Car Ride

One of those spur of the moment ideas. Sam was hanging out in the garage, I needed to run a quick errand to a friend's house and I didn't want to pick him up and put him in the house. When I opened up the door to the car, Sam jumped right in, so I decided to take him with me.

Sam roamed around the back seat of the car, eyes wide and taking in all the scenery that flew past. He didn't venture up front until we were on our way home and he was perfectly behaved.

282/365 - Hannah's Turn At the Vet

Since the cats don't get along, we take them to the vet on separate days.

Today was Hannah's turn. Since she is young, she gets an additional vaccine for Feline Leukemia. She wasn't happy about that.

But on the way home from the vet, Erica took her out of her cat carrier so she could enjoy the car ride.

And what about Sam? We'll take him in March.

275/365 - Drive Home

10.10.04 - Driving Home

The view from the back seat, on the way home from dinner. We dropped off the Tahoe to be serviced and went out to dinner at the Red Lobster. Because the kids like the cheesy biscuits. Really, in the land locked mid-west, Red Lobster is half decent.

And I didn't have to wash dishes!

131/365 - Elevated

That's what I think about the gas prices. I know it could be worse (and I know it is out west). I am thankful I drive a pretty fuel efficient car.

103/365 - Chess Club Buddies

I was instructed to pick up the boys in the convertible so everyone could enjoy the ride home, al-fresco.

Their payment for my services - allowing me to take their picture, of course!

100/365 - Top Down!

Perfect spring weather today. Perfect enough to take the top down on the convertible for a trip to Wal-Mart.

Scott has taken the top down already this year, but for me and Brian, it was our first "air" in 2010. We enjoyed every minute of it!

30/365 - Crowded

Not sure what was going on today, but everywhere I went, the parking lots were completely full. TaeKwonDo, The Starbucks, The Sam's Club, even The Library:

Open Parking Spot

While I realize it is Saturday, it seemed much busier than normal.

Other stuff from today - I ran 3+ miles in the frigid cold, with a nasty wind from the north. It was freezing. Erica went to a friend's birthday party / sleep over. [So there's been no fighting with Brian all day long]. Brian and Scott have been hanging out with the cats.

Just a nice, lazy Saturday.

288/365 - Milestone

Scott and I have been anticipating this milestone - 100,000 miles on the Corolla, aka "Cory". The odometer rolled over to the 100K mark as I was driving to violin lessons. I pulled off the road, into someone's driveway to take the picture.

Processed with two separate textures, using the "Hard Mix" blending mode in PSE.

Even at 100,000 miles, Cory still provides a reliable ride. I hope it makes it to 200,000 miles.

244/365 - Convertible Weather

Sunny, cotton ball clouds, low 70s. Perfect for driving the convertible, which I did - to the grocery store.

Convertible weather

I took the picture while stopped at a light by the County Market, blindly, with my iPhone.

Hoping for more days like this - the windows in the house are open, the cool breeze flowing through the rooms. Nothing better!

97/365 - Working on the Ragtop

Another beautiful day, so Scott worked on the convertible. This is a new top for Cappy, but all Scott was able to do was to fit it on the frame. The next step is to glue everything in place. But the temperatures need to stay above 75degF for the glue to cure properly, so that step will have to wait for warmer weather. Hopefully not too much longer.
