The First Week of January

We've been blessed with abundant sunshine, making it "seem" warmer. But the temperatures have been right on par with previous years, which means it is COLD out there!

So, what's been going on?

We went out and purchased a treadmill:
Making Strides
...which was used heavily by the kids for about two days. Erica was the requester, but Scott and I have used it more than she has. I figure now I don't have any excuse not to run (even though I'll be hitting the pavement unless there is serious ice and / or single digits outside).

It's been sunny outside:
Lines Across the Table

Scott and Brian set up the big tent in the basement last night (Friday). They camped out there with Sammy.
Come into the Tent

A small amount of snow (about 1") fell last night and provided Brian with some afternoon entertainment today.
Apres Snow Time

We are watching football now, and I am learning to use Lightroom 3 to organize and process my pictures. I have been using the 50mm lens since mid-December, forcing myself to work within the constrains of the fixed focal length.

The kids are back to school again, complaining a bit about the homework, and having to get up early. They don't know how easy they have it!

Project 365 - Week 18 Summary

I am a little behind on these weekly summaries. I like to post them on Tuesdays, but last week I didn't finish it in time. I don't have Week 19's mosaic pulled together, so you get last week's instead. Hopefully I'll have time to post two weeks' worth next Tuesday.

Project 365 - Week 16 Summary

We've made it into triple digits with year two of Project 365. I say "we" because I wouldn't be able to do it without the cooperation of my family and the encouragement of the folks who read here. So thank you!

In week 16, we had lots of music and more sports. And Earth day sprinkled in there, too.

P365 2010 - Week 14 Summary

We just about hit Day 100 this week - Saturday marked Day 99. My experience with Project 365 is that once you hit triple digits, it gets easier. Probably because after 100 days, that picture a day thing becomes routine in your life.

P365 - 2010 Week 12 Summary

Week 12 was our Spring Break week, and instead of going somewhere, the kids enjoyed a relaxing week at home, making pizza, cake and generally lazing about. I think they had a fabulous Spring Break!

P365 2010 - Week 10 Summary

My week 10 summary of Project 365 photos.

I am still working through the journaling cards for February. I've been keeping up with March. Then I'll have the 4x6's printed. I've realized that while blogging these 400+ days has been great, I really need to get the pictures into a physical album.

Project 365 - Week 8 Summary

It's Project Life Tuesday and here is my Week 8 summary of P365 photos:

P365 2010 - Week 8

You can find the "large" picture and associated blog entry through my blog's archive on the right side bar (scroll down a little bit).

I plan to print out the 4x6 pictures and get them into a 12x12 scrapbook (I have so much 12x12 paper that I couldn't bring myself to buy the fabulous Project Life kit). I have digital versions of the journaling cards, and I am using PSE to copy / paste my daily blog entry onto the cards. They will be printed out, just like the photos. I have completed January's photo and cards, and want to complete February before having the 4x6 prints made.

Hope you are still progressing on P365. For inspiration, check out the other P365 - Project Life participants at Jessica Turner's Blog.

Project 365 2010 - Week 7

Wow, how fast is the year zooming by - week 7 already! We are almost to the end of February, and I want to see some nicer weather.

And here's Week 7's summary of pictures:
P365 2010 - Week 7

Again, I created the mosaic of pictures using my flickr stream and the mosaic maker at Big Huge Labs. Then I added the date captions and text using the picnik editor that flickr links to. Super easy!

I hope your P365 is coming along well, and for other P365 Inspiration, head over to Jessica Turner's Blog and Project Life Tuesday.

Project 365 - 2010 Week 6

I realized I started last week's summary with Monday's picture instead of Sunday, so this week, there is a repeat of last Sunday's photo, but it's Scott, so I think that's OK.
