Fridays at work tend to be pretty low key, especially around the holidays.
I came across this cute little Christmas tree in the Project Engineers' office. I liked how the afternoon sun hit the ornaments, so I did what any other person at work does - I grabbed my camera and took a picture.
Wow, it's a cold one here today - it was only 9 degF this morning, with a wild chill of -10. I placed the pond de-icer out yesterday, but it doesn't appear to be working, as the ice is forming quickly, especially at the pond's waterfall.
My second order from mpix arrived today, and I spent some time assembling some gifts. Just a little sneak peek!
Moving to a totally unrelated item - we had cookies again tonight, these Otis Spunkmeyer cookies that I purchased from the school's fundraiser. I braved yesterday's torrential rains to pick up our order. But they were worth it - so yummy! They are pre-portioned and we only bake a couple at a time.
Our favorite Christmas show aired tonight on ABC - A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Even the kids clamor about this holiday special - you would have thought they were "too old" for Snoopy and the Gang, but they were so excited about it tonight.

Wow, that was fast - our yearly Christmas Cards arrived today from mpix. I ordered them late on Thursday after spending several days figuring out which pictures to use, what to write, etc, etc. As usual, they came out great.
The technical details - in Photoshop Elements, I create a 7x5 front .jpg file, a 7x5 back .jpg file and a 7x10 body .jpg file. mpix offers a 5x7 folded card press product, and I simply drag the .jpg files onto their blank card template and upload. The card is printed on all four sides, glossy on the outside, for a completely custom holiday greeting.

Now, to get these cards signed, addressed and back out in the mail. Sometimes it seems like a never ending process!
The latest Harry Potter movie becomes available on DVD this Tuesday* and as a result, all of the previous movies have been aired on TV all weekend long. We love the HP series, and Brian decided to channel Harry, using a chopstick as his wand.
(I know the chopstick is blurry, so you'll have to take my word for it).
*We won't be buying the latest movie because we're waiting for the entire set - yeah, that will be at least three years out, but we're patient!
With today's sunny (albeit COLD) day, the front room where the tree is set up was nicely lit and I decided to take a picture of part of the Nativity scene set up on the piano.
Unfortunately, Hannah likes to jump down from the stairs onto the piano and she has already knocked down several of the figurines. So far, the donkey has lost an ear.
Speaking of our Hannah, here is a picture of her from Thursday, relaxing in front of the fire. Always seeking out that warm spot in the house!
