Weekly Gratitude - Home

Weekly Gratitude - Home

In my Weekly Gratitude page, I mention the song, Are We There Yet, by Ingrid Michaelson. While I have posted the full lyrics here, the full effect of the song can only truly be appreciated by listening to it with the music, so I've embedded the song as well.

They say that home is where the heart is
I guess I haven't found my home
And we keep driving round in circles
Afraid to call this place our own

And are we there yet?

They say there's linings made of silver
Folded inside each raining cloud
Well, we need someone to deliver
Our silver lining now

And are we there yet?
And are we there yet?
And are we there yet?
Home, home, home
Home, home, home

They say you're really not somebody
Until somebody else loves you
Well, I am waiting to make somebody
Somebody soon

And are we there yet?
And are we there yet?
And are we there yet?
Home, home, home
Home, home, home

Where you will lie on the rug
While I play with the dog
And it won't be too much
'Cause this is too much
'Cause this is too much for me to hold
This is too much for me to hold

Home, home, home
And are we there yet?
And are we there yet?
And are we there yet?

Home, home, home
Home, home, home, home

And are we there yet?
And are we there yet?
And are we there yet?
And are we there?

63/365 - Distorted Reflections

Wow, what a beautiful, spring like day - ample sunshine, little wind and temperatures climbing up in the 50s. The kids finished up their last ISAT tests today and were ready for the weekend. Erica and a big church group headed out at noon for a Youth Conference. Brian played with friends Will and Henry.

I was drawn to my neighbor's house because of the large cardboard box outside the boys had converted to a fort. The cardboard box previously housed a new "egg-type", Kamado grill our friends had just purchased. I thought their new grill was totally cool - not because of the grill's functionality, but because of the distorted reflections I saw!

I proceeded to take pictures of Will playing by the grill:

Now I really want a fisheye lens!

62/365 - Breakfast Table

Taken at 7:17am this morning.
10.03.04 - Breakfast Table

The sun was shining and the kids were eating their typical school day breakfast - Brian, a apple toaster strudel and Erica, a cherry toaster strudel. Erica is reading the comics from the morning paper.

I've noticed the sun rising earlier and earlier in the recent weeks. In a couple of weeks, when we go back to Daylight Savings Time, the sky will be dark outside during breakfast again.

So, I'll enjoy these bright mornings for the time being. And I know they will come again.

61/365 - Last Fire of the Season

Brian lit our last fire log. With temperatures climbing every day (we're supposed to be up to 50 DegF by the weekend!), this will be our last fire of the season.

60/365 - First Boxes

Of Girl Scout Cookies!

A sure sign of Spring, Scott brought home two boxes of GS cookies today. He ordered five boxes at work and is keeping the other three boxes there.

10.03.02 - First Boxes

I took the picture before dinner. After dinner, the box of Peanut Butter Patties had been completely consumed by our family of pigs!

No fear, I ordered several more boxes, so we'll have plenty to eat in the coming weeks (or days, LOL!).

What are your favorite Girl Scout Cookies? Mine are the Lemonade Cookies, which are not available in all areas. Hopefully, I'll receive my delivery tomorrow.

Project 365 - Week 8 Summary

It's Project Life Tuesday and here is my Week 8 summary of P365 photos:

P365 2010 - Week 8

You can find the "large" picture and associated blog entry through my blog's archive on the right side bar (scroll down a little bit).

I plan to print out the 4x6 pictures and get them into a 12x12 scrapbook (I have so much 12x12 paper that I couldn't bring myself to buy the fabulous Project Life kit). I have digital versions of the journaling cards, and I am using PSE to copy / paste my daily blog entry onto the cards. They will be printed out, just like the photos. I have completed January's photo and cards, and want to complete February before having the 4x6 prints made.

Hope you are still progressing on P365. For inspiration, check out the other P365 - Project Life participants at Jessica Turner's Blog.
